Renu Laser and Skin Care has recently expanded its scope of services to include the new INMODE Radio Frequency Technology, VOTIVA. We are so excited to roll out these new capabilities and have already begun treating patients for numerous skin and healthcare issues.
INMODE utilizes Radio Frequency to deliver bulk heating and tightening for an array of skin and health concerns. Our new INMODE machine can offer two separate technologies that I will be describing in this and next month's blog. The first technology that we now offer here at Renu Laser and Skin Care that I will be covering is VOTIVA by INMODE.
VOTIVA
VOTIVA is life-changing, non-invasive, non-surgical technology that we now offer in our office for feminine rejuvenation, and is administered by our in-house registered nurse, Abby Coggins.
WHAT CONCERNS CAN VOTIVA TREAT?
- Wrinkles and elastic appearance of the labia and vulva

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A VOTIVA TREATMENT?
- Our registered nurse administers the treatment in a similar fashion to your annual exam. A device tip will be inserted into your vagina that will deliver radio frequency energy that in turn causes the tissue to undergo a bulk heating and tightening effect.
DOES THE TREATMENT HURT?
- Many women claim that you feel the warmth of the radio frequency heating and it also feels similar to receiving your annual exam. Pain is not associated with the treatment and numbing cream is not needed internally.
HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?
- Some women notice a tightening effect as they undergo a treatment and also notice a difference in their incontinence after one treatment; however, at minimum, a series of three treatments are recommend to receive maximum benefits from the technology.
HOW DOES RADIO FREQUENCY TIGHTEN VAGINAL SKIN INTERNALLY?
- Radio Frequency delivers a bulk heating effect that heats the tissue causing the stimulation of new collagen formation and hence, tightening.
WHAT CAN BE DONE EXTERNALLY?
- A separate tool will be utilized for external treatment of the labia and vulva called FRACTORA. FRACTORA will also be discussed in our may blog as it not only works in the vaginal area, but all over the body for skin laxity.
- FRACTORA for vaginal purposes can tighten the external appearance of labia without the surgical procedure of a labiaplasty (surgery). A topical numbing cream is applied to the external areas of treatment, and the FRACTORA treatment is administered by our registered nurse, Abby Coggins.
- Many women claim that due to numbing cream strength, the procedure is barely felt, extremely tolerable, and well worth it.
WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?
- It is typically recommended to abstain from sexual activity for seven days after an internal VOTIVA treatment.
- For the most part, you can resume your normal activities, as usual, keeping in mind that you just had a treatment and need to be careful until you feel fully healed.
