What should you expect from your Subnovii Plasma Pen treatment?
"Because the plasma device creates an instant wound on the skin, small scabs will form that can take 5-10 days to fall off. The scabs are a natural and protective barrier to the magic taking place below. Because the treatment area is immediately sealed, there is a very low risk of side effects but the skin may feel tight and itchy as the area heals. Once the scabs fall off, the skin beneath may look pink. This is renewed skin and any redness should progressively fade."
The Healing Process:
Please expect some down-time with this procedure. Though everyone's healing response is different. Here are some common side effects that are seen:
- Swelling (this is actually good for the healing process. Icing can be counter-productive to the benefits that swelling may bring.) It is also important to avoid taking anti-histamines, or anything that may inhibit your body's swelling response.
- Crusting; You will see immediate scabbing in the areas of treatment. It is imperative that you DO NOT pick at these scabs as they are needed to cover the treatment area. Any preliminary removal of scabbing could lead to hyperpigmentation and other adverse effects. It can also subject you to skin infection. Please allow all scabbing to fall off naturally. This is not an optimal treatment for pickers unless you can ensure to leave the scabbing in place.
- Keep the area DRY. YES, DRY. You will be given after-care instructions that you need to follow in order to maximize results, as well as ensure you treatment areas heal correctly.
- No cream makeups until scabbing falls off.
- Avoid the sun, sauna, and steam rooms. Again, you want to keep the treatment area nice and dry. If you will be sweating excessively, you may need to take a break from exercise, as well.
- Once scabs have fallen off, you will need to utilize at least SPF 50 and avoid extreme sun exposure for three months, UV Rays, and extreme low temperatures for 2 weeks.
When should I see results?
