DEBUNKING THE MYTH OF TOPICAL COLLAGEN TREATMENTS. . .

When browsing through the aisles of beautifully packaged skin care salves and potions, it is all too easy to fall victim to marketing gimmicks and direct yourself to the shiniest bottle of anti-aging "collagen-boosting" creams that promise to turn your life around in four weeks flat. . .

I am here to tell you to BEWARE, and read on, so you don’t waste your money on topical collagen creams that simply WON’T work the way you want and expect them to.

Truth – The over-the-counter topical cream probably does contain collagen, which is a beneficial agent to achieving youthful looking skin.

~HOWEVER~

Myth – What they don’t tell you is that topical collagen is unable to reach dermal layers of your skin, where it needs to be to actually benefit your skin and its appearance. Furthermore, while you may be moisturizing your skin, the collagen that is promised to make your skin look better, is doing nothing topically.

Why? – Collagen molecules are simply too large to penetrate the skin’s surface. It is similar to trying to fit a flat piece of paper through a chain link fence. The collagen molecule simply can’t be topically applied and penetrant the skin to reach the dermal layer, and actually yield results.

What CAN be done? – Lucky for us, with the use of modern technology, we have the ability to utilize medical grade light therapy RIGHT HERE AT RENU to help infuse topical collagen products so they can reach the dermal layers, where they need to be. On top of utilizing topical infusions, red light therapy itself stimulates the production of collagen, so you are really getting a “double-whammy” collagen boost.

Light Therapy Facial Infusions – What to expect:

  1. Face is cleansed and skin must be bare prior to receiving treatment as some topical agents prevent penetration of the light therapy through the skin.
  2. Topical infusion cream is applied (RENU currently offers a Peptide Infusion & Hyaluronic Acid Infusion) ~ not just any topical infusion cream can be applied. . . Topical infusions offered at Renu are specifically formulated in order to have the ability to react with the light therapy and successfully penetrate the superficial skin layers.
  3. Treatment area and topical infusion are then exposed to light therapy which uses precise wavelengths and pulses of light to deliver the skin care ingredients (collagen) to the dermal layers of skin.

A few following notes:

  • Light therapy is completely SAFE and will not harm you
  • There is NO DOWNTIME after this procedure is completed
  • Great way to improve skin tone and texture
  • Successful at delivering topical collagen agents to the dermal layers
  • Stimulates the production of new collagen
  • Greater results are seen with increased exposure (RENU offers package pricing on light therapy infusions)

If you take anything from this article: please understand that over the counter skin creams claiming to deliver collagen will not be effective in distributing the collagen to the dermal layers of the skin, rendering them useless for anti-aging. Collagen molecules are too large to penetrate the outer layers of skin. However, Renu offers safe and easy Light Therapy Dermal Infusions that can deliver topical collagen to the dermal layer, as well as stimulate the production of new collagen.

Moral of the story, stop wasting your money on creams that will not work, and start allocating your resources to technology that will work! SCHEDULE YOUR CONSULT TODAY TO SEE IF LIGHT THERAPY INFUSIONS ARE RIGHT FOR YOU!!!
